Pontoon Safety

Safety Guidelines for Rentals:

1. **Life Jackets:** We will ensure that every passenger has access to a properly fitting life jacket. Encourage wearing them at all times, especially for non-swimmers and required for children.

2. **Safety Briefing:** We will provide a comprehensive safety briefing before departure. Cover topics such as location of life jackets, emergency procedures, navigation rules, and potential hazards.

3. **Capacity Limits:** 10 person OR 1410 lbs. Overloading can compromise stability and safety.

4. **Weather Awareness:** Keep an eye on weather forecasts and be prepared to return to shore in case of adverse conditions. High winds, lightning, and rough waters can pose serious risks.

5. **Designated Driver:** Designate a responsible driver who is familiar with boating regulations and sober. Alcohol and boating don’t mix.

6. **Navigation Rules:** We will inform you about navigation rules and regulations, including speed limits, right-of-way, and no-wake zones.

7. **Emergency Equipment:** We ensure that the boat is equipped with essential safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, distress signals, and a throwable flotation device.

8. **Pre-Departure Check:** We will conduct apre-departure check to verify that all systems are in working order, including lights, horn, and engine.

9. **Avoid Reckless Behavior:** As the Captain you are responsible for behavior on board. Discourage activities like diving or jumping from the boat, which can lead to accidents. NEVER allow passengers to sit on the bow or stern while underway

10. **Stay Alert:** Remind passengers to stay alert and be aware of their surroundings. Avoid distractions and maintain a lookout for other boats, swimmers, and obstacles.

Jet Ski Safety

Jet Ski Safety Guidelines for Rental Businesses:

1. **Safety Orientation:** We provide a thorough safety orientation to renters before they operate the jet ski. Topics such as basic operation, safety equipment location and usage, navigation rules, and emergency procedures.

2. **Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs):** We ensure that every renter wears a properly fitting PFD at all times while on the jet ski. We can not emphasize enough, their importance for safety and are LEALLY required.

3. **Age Requirements:** 18 years old is the minimum age requirements for jet ski operations. We will verify renters’ credentials and provide instruction as needed.

4. **Pre-Rental Inspection:** We will conduct a pre-rental inspection of each jet ski to verify that it is in good working condition. Check for any signs of damage or malfunction, and ensure that all safety features are operational.

5. **Instructional Demonstration:** We offer a hands-on instructional demonstration to renters, covering throttle control, steering, turning, and emergency shutdown procedures. We strongly encourage all renters to practice basic maneuvers before heading out on the water.

6. **Safety Equipment:** Each jet ski is equipped with essential safety equipment, including an engine cutoff switch, fire extinguisher, whistle or horn, and a throwable flotation device. Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and functional.

7. **Safe Operating Areas:** All renters will be briefed on safe operating areas and designate boundaries to prevent them from straying into dangerous or restricted zones.

8. **Weather Awareness:** Monitor weather conditions closely and avoid operating the jet ski in inclement weather, high winds, or rough seas. We will provide guidance on what to do in case of sudden changes in weather.

9. **Clear Communication:** You will have our contact information for emergencies or ANY assistance. PLEASE report any concerns or incidents promptly.

Procedures
Participants are required to sign a liability waiver. Passengers under the age of 18 MUST have a parent/guardian to sign the waiver.  A valid driver’s license is required as a deposit for every jet ski rental.  You must be at least 18 years of age to operate any PWC at Uncharted Adventures LLC. 

Refunds

Weather plays a very important role when planning your activities. We work with you in rescheduling your activity for bad weather days. If you are unable to reschedule, you will receive a full refund. Other circumstances may occur where you are not available to make your scheduled time for your activity, we require you to give us a proper 24 hour notice by calling (912) 901-RENT. We will be happy to reschedule or give you a refund. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS IF A PROPER CANCELLATION NOTICE IS NOT GIVEN. 

Fuel Cost

Actual fuel cost will be billed at the end of each rental. A short video is available of refueling upon request.
